There's not much churches could do with the way how kids love those game consoles. But we could make camps an interesting alternative by partnering with local school teachers and parent clubs. A little school and parent help would get them to try it. Once there, it's up to the Church how to make it interesting enough for these hard to please kids.

John - I think you have hit the essence of a virtual assistant ... the ability to duplicate oneself in an area so that you can engage in higher value activity. Since the time is many times the limiting factor, we are looking for the time that a virtual assistant can create for us.

This is a good idea that could be incorporated to church marketing. As a matter it is a part of it if you consider the tasks that need to be done to be known online. One thing that you have to consider though is the way you screen your VA to know what level of trust you could work on. If all these would work together ok, then you are in effect creating a programmable duplicate of yourself.

Consumerism will rise regardless if the church would utilize internet marketing or not. I prefer to see it as a modern way of reaching out. It just so happen that on a business perspective, it really works.

I heard that some Catholic Schools in the Philippines run by religious orders even screen their students if their parents are married or not. Though not that strict here, there are still a lot of things to consider when hiring church personnel. It may be a bit harsh compared to the ideal way of choosing people, but i would agree that peace of mind is worth more in the long term.
