Laying the right foundation with hosting

Lay the groundwork the right way with the appropriate web hosting environment

I have had the opportunity to host website solutions within about 8 varied Internet hosting environments. When I evaluate my selections based on rock solid dependability, amazing functionality, and ease of access, I would certainly have to render the nod to a hosting corporation called Bluehost as my #1 professional recommendation for churches and religious groups.

Bluehost is equivalent to other hosting companies when it comes to its deliverables. I’ll try not to bore you to death with statistics. But at least consider:

  • limitless web hosting room
  • unlimited file tranfer
  • hosting unlimited domains
  • etc., etc., etc. unlimited

What impresses the daylights out of me is the ease of which a person can easily setup and revise your site(s). You DON’T have to be a techno-geek to utilize their control panel (CP). How about “one-button” installs, and “one-button” upgrades? That is amazing! There is also a Live Demo connected with the back-end system where by you can easily test out some of the tools before you commit to anything.

Bluehost has grown to be my favored web host environment. We have a good selection of our customers hosted with Bluehost as a consequence. If you make a decision to utilize Bluehost, jot me a note and let me know what you think.

Church Search Engine Optimization

Should your church be interested in a search engine optimized website that that allows you to be found by search engine traffic, or in other words, by people who are searching for a church home, ministry, life-help, or the truth about the afterlife?

Much thought should be put into the above question…

  • What is the mission statement of your congregation?
  • What do you see as your primary purpose?
  • Are you more current member support oriented, or outreach oriented?

I see many church sites that are focused only on giving their members information regarding what is happening at the church. It is hard for the uninitiated, (non-churched folks) to gather information from such sites that will encourage them to visit and learn more about Christianity.

Search Engine Optimization is invaluable to those churches who want to penetrate past their walls into their communities by making themselves know with the most powerful communication tool of our generation besides one-on-one interaction. It stands to reason that if you want to engage people, it is probably important to do it where they are. Why make the job harder than it needs to be, right?

Where are they? Online. Searching the web, socializing at social sites like Facebook, playing Farmville, tweeting, looking for product or service reviews on any number of things. People research everything now. Many think Google is god. They have the resources that are needed to have all this information at their disposal. Computers are cheap. iPhones are cheap. High-speed Internet access is cheap.

Should your church be interested in a website that is optimized to be found by search engine traffic? I think so. Hopefully you will catch the vision also. Church search engine optimization is a powerful tool that can be used to meet those objectives.

Well, for that fact SEO in general, but since this blog niche is Internet Marketing for churches, we’ll go with church SEO.

There are a couple of ways to obtain valuable keyword research. Google Adwords has a splendid free tool that does a great job of giving you an idea of how competitive a phrase is, as well a great variations of  your primary phrase.

The second does cost for a subscription, but is invaluable. That is Wordtracker. Wordtracker has been in my toolkit for over four-years, and gives me great insight into search behavior.

Best yet is that Wordtracker has a “money back guarantee”, plus a free trial. That way you can test the tool before you commit your hard earned dollars.

Once you have the list of keywords in which to promote your site, you can craft them into an SEO campaign, Paid Search Campaigns in Google or Facebook, or write on those topics in your blog.

Have fun digging for those golden keywords, and much success to fishing with the best bait.

Nils writes, “I love their title: The blog to frustrate, educate and motivate the church to communicate, with uncompromising clarity, the truth of Jesus Christ.”

You can find the Church Marketing Sucks site here.

The post from Nils can be found here.

The only thing I ask is that you be open minded ….
